(More customer reviews)This TV-DVD player has an incredibly sharp picture and good sound for the size of the speakers. When first turned on after setting up, the sound was set incredibly loud- near window shattering. We are using it in the kitchen on a shelf over the refrigerator and we have to keep the volume at 3 or 4 to keep it from being too loud even with kitchen noises. It has many inputs and outputs compared to most similar units and the built-in DVD player works well handling many different formats of CDs (audio, picture, etc.). It's fairly easy to use the remote though you have to go through the source menu to play a DVD- would have thought that inserting a DVD would automatically switch it to the DVD mode.
We were surprised and pleased to find that the set swivels on its base. This allows us to rotate it from viewable in the kitchen proper to viewing it from the eat-in space.
I had never heard of Pyle and going to their website doesn't help much. I couldn't register the set on line- just wouldn't work. They also don't even list this TV as a product and they apparently have no support for it. Googling this TV finds a huge range of prices. Even the Amazon price now is way higher now than what I paid from Amazon.
While the unit seems to be good quality , the operator manual is lousy. It is reminiscent of old Japanese manuals in terms of misuse of words, grammar, spelling and content. Instructions for the DVD player were flat out wrong- called for inserting a disc with the wrong side to the laser. Fortunately, a graphic on the set itself shows the correct way to insert the disc.
Overall- very well pleased with the set.
